Workshops and discussions taking place across i2i's centres to mark #MHAW16

The story in full:

It’s day one of Mental Health Awareness Week and our centres are busy running workshops and holding discussions on mental health and wellbeing.

Staff at i2i Wolverhampton are supporting the cause by wearing green, and they have also organised a special workshop, which is being run by national mental health charity Rethink.

i2i’s Employment Coach Giorgia Marchisio said: “Rethink run workshops here regularly and the feedback from the customers is always brilliant.

“They recently ran an eight-week course called "Living life to the full" and quite a few of our customers attended. They really enjoyed it, so we invited Geraldine back to run a special workshop to raise awareness for mental health.”

Speaking after the session, Laura, who is a customer at i2i Wolverhampton, said: “The session was very informative and it was nice to be able to open up and understand feelings. Geraldine was brill. I will certainly look at things differently in the future before letting things get on top of me.”

Fellow i2i customer Tony said: “I enjoyed the course. It was useful to understand that many people suffer from mental health problems even if they look like they don’t. It helped me to realise that other people have the same problems as me. I will definitely ask my adviser to come to more courses like this in the future.”

We'll be posting lots more updates from other i2i centres throughout the week.
