Health 2 Employment (H2E)

Health 2 Employment

Health 2 Employment was officially launched on November 25, 2015, and is one of the latest additions to the company’s successful employability, skills and training business. The company aims to meet the needs and demands of the welfare sector by supporting unemployed individuals with complex health issues into sustainable employment. Qualified Health Practitioners carry out in-depth health and employability assessments, making recommendations and adaptations aimed at helping customers get back into work. The Practitioners and advisers work closely with customers to find work which is most suitable for them; focusing on what they can do, rather than what they can’t. They focus on exploring ways of making the transition into work easier, whether this be through referrals, medical support, reduced hours or specialist equipment once in work.

In 2018 with the launch and Go-Live of DWP’s Work and Health Programme we extended our Health 2 Employment coverage supporting Shaw Trust across Central, Home Countries and West London CPAs; Reed in Partnership across North East and South London CPA and for Pluss across Southern CPA.

Further programmes include Building Better Opportunities (Big Lottery) in five contract areas, the devolved Greater Manchester ‘Skills 4 Employment’ programme, National Citizen Service (North West and Stoke/Staffs), DWP Education Skills Agency programmes (Merseyside and Humber) and Education Skills Agency SFA programmes across Lancashire, Stoke/Staffs and Coventry. Plus, through direct Skills Funding Agency (SFA) contract we deliver a range of Apprenticeships, Traineeships and Accredited Vocational Qualifications in five regions.

i2i is a patron/founder of the Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP), an active member of the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA), engages with the Learning and Work Institute (LWI) and positively consults with Councils, Combined Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and Skills and Employment Partnerships to understand and shape local employment, health and skills services.

i2i employs the right people, including Registered Nurses. i2i’s fully qualified nursing team is experienced in working in Community Health, Hospital Wards and Triage Services; each member has a specialised background and knowledge and at least seven years of post-qualification experience. Each nurse also holds an active NMC PIN, which allows them to practice.

“Having integrated this service successfully into their own delivery, Serco identified i2i as a preferred supplier of a bespoke occupational health advisory service to complement the employability support offered by providers in a Contract Package Area, which i2i do not otherwise operate in."

"The service that i2i has delivered in the four months since implementation has been outstanding. Feedback from advisers in the supply-chain has been overwhelmingly positive about the advice customers have received, how empowered they have felt to take action towards improving their health and wellbeing, and the extent to which advisers have felt better informed about the nature of different health conditions, and the healthcare solutions available to their customers in their local areas.”

Paul Hughes, Serco Head of Performance (Welfare Services)

“I was originally referred to i2i when I was on JSA, but due to my re-occurring health issues getting worse at the time, I was taken off it before i2i saw me and put on ESA. What I like about i2i is the advisors have been giving me great advice regarding my health and how to deal with it in a work place. Thanks to i2i my health has improved to the point that I’m able to do voluntary work (Digital Champion with Go On) and an AET course (PTTLS) with the prospect of employment in the near future. Thanks for helping me and keep up good work.”
